Ibadan Eye Health Outreach – Monatan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria

March 14, 2026

Rolan Foundation conducted the Ibadan Eye Health Outreach on March 14, 2026, at T.L. Oyeshina Model School, Monatan, Ibadan, in collaboration with the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, the Nigeria Optometric Association (Oyo Chapter), and local authorities.

The outreach brought essential eye care services directly to the community, reaching hundreds of beneficiaries through a well-coordinated mobilization effort that included radio jingles, community engagement, and local outreach.

During the program, beneficiaries received comprehensive eye examinations, vision screenings, and free prescription eyeglasses, helping to improve sight and overall quality of life. In addition, hundreds of medications and eyeglasses were distributed to address various eye and related health conditions.

The outreach revealed a significant number of untreated eye conditions within the community, largely due to limited awareness of routine eye care and the high cost of accessing medical services. Several cases identified required further medical attention beyond basic care.

Through initiatives like this, Rolan Foundation continues to expand access to quality healthcare services, ensuring that underserved communities receive the support they need to live healthier and more productive lives.
