Australian Embassy Direct Aid Program (DAP), June 2026
In Epe Community, Ondo State, Nigeria, one of the major challenges faced at the Comprehensive Health Center was unstable electricity supply. Frequent power outages disrupted healthcare delivery and made it difficult for medical staff to provide timely and effective care, especially during emergencies.
To address this challenge, the Australian Embassy Direct Aid Program (DAP), in partnership with Rolan Foundation, supported the installation of a solar power system at the facility to provide a reliable and sustainable source of electricity. The project also provided fans and a deep freezer to further improve the facility’s operations and support healthcare service delivery.
The solar energy system now powers key areas of the health center, ensuring that healthcare services can operate more efficiently and without interruption, even during periods of power failure. The additional equipment has enhanced the working environment for healthcare personnel and strengthened the facility’s capacity to safely store essential medical supplies.
This improved infrastructure has strengthened the facility’s ability to deliver essential services, including safe maternal care, child health services, and emergency response, ensuring patients receive consistent and timely care regardless of external power conditions.
This completed intervention reflects a shared commitment to strengthening primary healthcare in underserved communities and improving access to reliable medical services for the people of Epe Community.
