Research has proven that the rate of mortality increases from the age of 55 and above due to the following illness; diabetes, hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, congestive cardiac failure, and chronic renal disease among others [PMC (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3035961/)]. Our approach to this public health challenge is timely and regular medical outreaches. We do this through:
- Partnership with health practitioners for their expertise throughout the outreach
- Partnering with private hospitals for test kits and healthcare items
- Organization of health talks and discussions within the community
- Organization of health walks, campaigns, and seminars
- Engagement of volunteers.
The Medical outreach was held on the 5th- 6th of May, 2023. The first day was at Bolorunduro and the second day was at Oke-Ayadi.
