The Role:
The Grants Officer plays a vital role in securing funding for our organization’s initiatives. You will be responsible for the entire grant lifecycle, from identifying suitable opportunities to managing awarded grants. You will work closely with program staff to develop compelling proposals that align with our strategic goals and funders’ priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and private donors.
- Analyze funding guidelines and eligibility criteria to determine program fit.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop competitive grant proposals, ensuring strong narratives and budgets.
- Manage the grant application process, including deadlines, submissions, and follow-up communication.
- Oversee awarded grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and budgetary restrictions.
- Monitor grant progress and prepare progress reports for funders.
- Maintain a comprehensive grants database and filing system.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with grantors and program officers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and/or grant management.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (a plus).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
